Solid Energies Inc. (SEI), headquartered in Anaheim, California has been developing and commercializing revolutionary, sustainable solid-state batteries since 2017. The company focuses on solid-state electrolytes, solid-state batteries, and lithium-air batteries with key advantages including low cost, high energy density, wide operating temperature range, long service life, and fast charging capabilities. SEI's mission is to provide sustainable power through safe, reliable, lightweight, and cost-effective energy storage solutions.
Since 2017, SEI has received over $10 Million+ in funding from the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Energy/Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA-E), NASA, and the California Energy Commission, plus $2.5 Million in private investment to establish a small pilot production line. Having successfully demonstrated technical and manufacturing feasibility (with 8 patents authorized and additional ones under review), SEI is currently at a critical turning point, transitioning from laboratory research to engineering prototypes and small pilot production aimed at commercial manufacturing. The company is committed to become a world-class supplier of solid-state batteries and a leader in energy solutions for aerospace/defense, consumer electronics, electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and medical devices.

Solid Energies Inc. was founded in 2017 with a singular mission: to commercialize next-generation All Solid-State Batteries (ASSB) for both defense and commercial markets. The company's technical foundation was established by its senior R&D team, which has been advancing battery technologies since 2010 and focusing specifically on solid-state architectures since 2016. This early work was catalyzed by successful SBIR/STTR Phase I and II contracts from the U.S. Navy, Army, and Air Force—initially performed under Bioenno Tech LLC and subsequently transitioned to Solid Energies Inc. upon its founding. Building on this defense-rooted expertise, the company has secured highly competitive non-dilutive funding since 2022 from the California Energy Commission (CEC), DOE/ARPA-E, and NASA. These grants support the establishment of a pilot-scale production line, the development of novel chemistries, and the creation of ultra-low-temperature, high-safety cells. To complement this public support and accelerate commercial rollout, Solid Energies began attracting private investment in 2023, further expediting the development and market entry of its solid-state technology.
Solid Energies Inc. (SEI) currently leads the all-solid-state battery industry, standing apart from competitors by delivering a true All Solid-State Battery (ASSB) that has already achieved what most rivals only promise: a production-scale demonstrated 3.7V/15Ah cell, with 20Ah and 50Ah systems currently in development. Unlike competitors pursuing "hybrid" designs or relying on sulfide-based electrolytes that remain difficult to manufacture at scale, SEI's proprietary SuperSi+ polymer composite electrolyte technology is design-transfer ready, enabling seamless integration with existing roll-to-roll manufacturing infrastructure. This manufacturing pragmatism—applying proven materials and techniques more intelligently rather than chasing unproven novelty—translates directly into lower adoption costs, faster transition timelines, and a clear path to mass production that leaves competitors' ceramic-based systems behind. SEI's defense-rooted heritage provides a critical competitive edge.
Having developed batteries for or in collaboration with prime defense contractors and major aerospace companies such as Boeing and Airbus—with approximately $11 million in combined funding from the DoD, ARPA-E, NASA, and the California Energy Commission, augmented by roughly $3 million in private investment—SEI engineers to the most demanding standards from the outset, not as an afterthought. While competitors are partially or wholly funded by foreign interests, SEI is wholly American-owned and operated, ensuring NDAA compliance and supply chain security. The result is a unique combination of exceptional performance metrics: extreme temperature tolerance from -40°C to 90°C, intrinsic safety with zero thermal runaway risk, >350 Wh/kg energy density, >1,000 cycles, and the ability to discharge at 5C while charging at up to 3C. These performance benchmarks redefine what is achievable in military and aerospace applications. SEI's ASSB is not a laboratory curiosity; it is a battle-ready, production-ready solution engineered for the field—not just the test tube.

Being at our core as a Defense Contractor, we commercialize technology from a fundamentally different perspective and goal as compared with the other alternative entities also developing ASSB technology. Pulling from our heritage of development spanning over a decade, Solid Energies has worked exclusively with prime defense entities with the sole focus of production battle ready batteries. While the alternative entities are all partially or wholly funded with foreign investments and foreign interests, Solid Energies has no such issues.
We develop to higher standards to exceed more rigorous demands from more critical customers and we develop in America. The result is that our technology has achieved fruition at an actionable stage and is currently Design Transfer ready.
Solid Energies embodies results above rhetoric. We are a company apart because our company ethos focuses on actionable innovation – advancements scaled for the production line and not the test tube. Our development team is comprised entirely of PhD level scientists with decades of industry experience and each holding multiple patents in numerous fields relating to battery development. They are supported by two commercialization arms – Bioenno Power focusing on individual B2C distribution and Solid Energies focusing on OEM B2B Tier-1 integration.
We have been a manufacturing company since our formal incorporation in 2017 and currently operates a robust Research Branch but are no longer a pure development company. Our comprehensive small-to-full scale production design and Roll-to-Roll capabilities are grounded in the practical understanding that more intelligent application of existing materials and proven techniques will yield greater results and more expeditiously. If you engineer it right from the get go, ramping up high efficacy production is easy.

Solid Energies is the home of the best All Solid-State Batteries in the industry, innovated in America by Americans meeting the highest standards of Aerospace and Defense.
